“As the grandmother of three students who attend Saint Michael the Archangel Regional School, it is my pleasure to write this review of the school.
Saint Michael’s is a wonderful school in so many ways.  The teachers are very dedicated to giving the very best education to the students.  I have been in the school many times and have seen, first-hand, happy children being educated in a loving, caring and nurturing environment.  It all starts at the top, and St. Michael’s is blessed to have an outstanding principal and vice-principal who have dedicated their lives to the school.  I have seen them interact with the students, and it is always with the students’ best interests at heart.  All of the staff members work very hard to make Saint Michael’s a safe, and caring environment.  We also have many parents who take the time to help out as needed.
The world has become a very different place than when I was growing up.  Saint Michael’s is a school that helps instill values our children need to become productive, thoughtful, caring and loving men and women.

“Today’s world is very difficult for our children. They are constantly bombarded by secular influences that are eroding our faith. A quick review of the violence and the things our kids are being exposed to in movies, television shows, music, the internet, and video games clearly shows that our Catholic Faith must work hard to counter-balance these destructive influences…not an easy task.
So, how do we give the right messages to our children? It is through our own actions, prayer and by providing a great Catholic Education.
We are fortunate to have excellent Catholic Schools in South Jersey. I believe St. Michael the Archangel Regional School in Clayton, NJ is one of the best.
I currently have three grandchildren attending SMRS. I volunteer for many of the activities at the school, so I spend a good deal of time there. I have had the pleasure of watching my grandchildren and other students achieve significant growth both academically and spiritually.
SMRS has very dedicated staff and teachers who believe strongly in the benefits of a strong catholic-based education. It is a pleasure to walk around the school and see respectful, vibrant students interacting with other students, teachers and staff as they mature into young adulthood. The majority of our students go on to catholic high schools and then on to college and become very productive Catholic citizens.
In closing, I believe sending your children to SMRS will be an investment that will serve them well by setting them up for success throughout their lives.”

“Our boys have attended St. Michael’s since kindergarten and they are now in 7th and 6th grades. We are certainly very happy with the education and extracurricular activities during their time at SMARS, but we are most grateful that our children attend a safe environment in which the educators and staff know our children and know our family. We are also very happy that our faith is at the center of their education, and the character items we are teaching at home are followed at school as well. My only wish is that we could send them to SMARS through 12th grade!”

“We have five children in St. Michael the Archangel Regional School. Our kids have been through Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and Kindergarten over several years, and our experiences have always been amazing. The teachers at St. Michael’s are there because they care about the children, and that is so very evident in their teaching and interactions with the children. St. Michael’s teachers are dedicated and provide personal touches geared to each child’s growth, development, and abilities. They have truly gone above and beyond for our children, even though some of our kids’ needs and situations have been unique. In addition, the Franciscan nuns that are present in the school regularly interact with the children educationally and personally. They add greatly to the classroom and overall environment.
St. Michael’s is home and family to my husband and I and our children. It is there that they learn not only their academics, but love for Jesus, and find reinforcement of our family values. We will always be a loyal SMRS family.”

“My daughter started at St. Michael’s for her Kindergarten year. We were so impressed by the curriculum, the loving teachers, and all of the family events offered by the school and the PTA. When my son was ready for school it was a simple decision. We started him in the Pre K3 program and did two days a week. It was just enough to introduce him to socialization, classroom routine, and some basic skills. He loved the way learning was incorporated with play. He made friends and had a connection with the teachers in the school. He loved that his sister’s teacher knew him. For Pre K4 we increased the number of days he went and he thrived. He was reading site words, beginning the basics of addition, and leaning all about science and religion. The loving environment continued to grow as he made friends with children in other grades. The small community of the school makes it possible for everyone to know each other and support each other. Even though my daughter has done well regardless I wish I had known about these programs when she was in Pre K.”

“We started our oldest at St. Michael’s in Pre-K3 four years ago in the hopes of finding a school where he and his siblings would be for all of their Elementary years. This idea helped with his transition to Kindergarten; there weren’t any tears, he knew what to expect, he had already been to the room, and already met his teacher. But, that is not what really kept us at St. Michael’s. While he was in Pre-K3 he was playing in the other room and talking to himself (as kids of that age do). We listened a little closer and realized he was saying the Our Father. This was only a few weeks into his school year. Another instance, he was again in pre-school and was at a famous chain restaurant with a playground inside. He finally finished his meal and we said he could go and play. He bounded toward the playground, opened the door, and then, to our surprise, let the two kids behind him in first while he held the door for them. These are not lessons that are taught in books. These are the lessons I am most proud of my kids for knowing. They are taught by example, by the respect and love of the faculty and staff to my children, and just as importantly, the behavior of the older students in the school. Kids learn by watching big kids. This is a community where education is valued highly, where love and acceptance, and the ways of our Lord are instilled and reinforced. My kids are smart, but more importantly, they have good hearts. They think of others, which at this age is a hard thing to do. My daughter’s (currently in Pre-K3) birthday wish as she blew out her candles was that her brother did well in his race that day. I can’t express how grateful I am to a school whose love for my kids shines through and shows them how important it is to love others. These are the lessons I find the most important in life, and this is why they remain at St. Michael’s and will be joined by their younger siblings when their time comes.”

“I’m the parent of 7th grade student. I absolutely love St. Michael’s. My son was always in public school; he started to struggle and I wanted a school that was more family oriented. I felt as if I was never allowed to be a part of the former school. St. Michael’s provides a great education. They teach your children to be respectful, kind, and have good catholic values. It has changed our family, and I will never go back to public school again. ”

“Our child started SMRS in 4th grade. We were worried about the transition, but it was the best move we made for our son. The most amazing thing about our school community is how welcoming both the faculty and students are to any new student. This school is a community of caring students, teachers, and parents. There is so much more than excellent academics being taught here. We could send our child to any of the wonderful schools in Gloucester County, but at SMRS, my son is able to learn faith based values, pray together, and provide service to our community. This is extremely important to us in a world I believe is losing the focus on God and family. The same love and safety our son feels at home is being carried over in his school. I cannot imagine him to be any happier anywhere else!”

“Our family is choosing St. Michael’s for our son’s education. He will begin in pre-k 3 and continue through 8th grade. Catholic schools are so much more than just a school and so much more than just an education. St. Michael’s truly represents all we want for a high quality well rounded education. It is a safe and family centered environment with faith at the core. Our son will not be a number but a member of a family and that is priceless. We are excited to watch him soar as he becomes a Warrior this fall!”

“After 8 years at St Michael the Archangel we are still in love with this school and are completely happy with our decision to send my son. My son started attending when he was 3 years old and we never looked back. Our longevity there should be a testament to what an awesome school is St. Michael’s. The teachers, administration and faculty care about your child. They don’t just teach the students, but they get to know each student and family. This school and the families at this school have become extended family. Our experience at St. Michael’s has been way more than I ever could have imagined when I sent my son in 2010. My son loves his school, his teachers, and his fellow students. The teachers teach each individual how they learn. Yes, it’s a Catholic school, but there are students of many faiths that attend. Not only attend but are welcomed. My son has not only flourished academically but he has become a caring citizen. In the years to come I will still be an advocate for St Michael’s. We have been so blessed to be a part of such an awesome community. ”

“As I sit here reflecting on our family’s time at St. Michael the Archangel Regional School (SMRS) the only thing I can think of is that it was an amazing experience for my daughter. My daughter has been at this school for the last 9 years and has made some amazing friends that she will keep forever. The teachers and Sisters are caring and kind they want the students to excel at everything they do. The parents take an active role in the sports, classrooms as well as all of the fundraisers.
SMRS is not just a school, it is a family environment that the kids feel safe going to school there. With the smaller classes you get to know all of the kids as well as the parents. The kids create strong bonds with their friends as they move through the grades.
My daughter will be graduating from SMRS this June and move on to Paul VI, I can only hope that she will have a similar experience from that school as she did with SMRS. I am sure that both I and daughter will continue to volunteer our time at SMRS after we leave. ”

“Saint Michael’s school has been a great educational partner for my family for my three children. My oldest transferred from a public school in the first grade and my daughter started the Pre K program at the age of 4. We switched schools when we saw the difference in what the education program was being offered. The education and support the teachers give is above average. My children love coming to school every day. Now that my youngest is in Kindergarten it is easy to see the difference in what is offered. The faith background helps the children learn how to be good human beings, the love of God, and love in their selves to be the best they can. I have also found as the children grow older that they are so many extracurricular actives that are offered as well. These sports help the children develop even closer friendships and the spirit of competition.”
